Paralyzed Girl Pardons Her Offender

A six-year-old girl was magnanimous enough to pardon her offender who shot and shattered her spine, at a house in Dorchester, MA that resulted in paralyzing her from the // waist down. Sitting on a wheelchair, she forgave him in the court, where he was produced to face the trial.

According to foodconsumer.org, in court, Kai Leigh Harriott broke down and cried hard initially. With a sip of water and consoling from her mother, she was able to tell the 29 year old offender, Anthony Warren who was seated ten feet away that What you done to me was wrong, But I still forgive him, it's ok and he did not mean to do that.

Kai was not born unhealthy or in a wheel chair. No she wasn't. She ran. She actually ran up and down that apartment. I could still hear the pitter patter of her feet, Kai Leigh's mother Tonya David, a devoted Christian, was quoted as saying. The paralysis is likely to keep the girl in a wheelchair for her lifetime.

David said she tried to hate Warrant, but she couldn’t. There is no place for bitterness in her family, which showed great compassion for Warren. Know from our heart that it's a forgiving heart. Forgiveness is everything, David said. It's everything.

Anthony Warren, a man of Boston, pleaded guilty Thursday to all charges against him including shooting the girl. He said that he's sorry and accepted responsibility. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 5 years' probation.

Earlier last month, Warren alleged his right to a speedy trial had been violated and asked the judge to throw out all the charges against him. Prosecutors opposed the motion to dismiss. Judge Margot Botsford agreed to hold a hearing on the issue.

Prosecutors say Warren, his brother and others had an argument with people who lived in the three-family house where Kai Leigh lived with her family on the third floor. Afterwards, they left, but Warren came back to the house around 11 p.m. on July first, 2003 and
