Pain relieved by ionized bracelets

Ionized bracelets appear to be no better than a placebo when it comes to the relief of aches and pains. According to a new study by doctors at the Mayo Clinic, the majority of people with muscle or joint pain are hopeful that the problem could be relieved// by ionized bracelets. So the researchers divided the participants into two groups - one of which was given an ionized bracelet, while the other received a placebo bracelet that looked identical.

The participants were asked to rate their pain at intervals during the 25 day study. Both groups reported significant improvement in pain. There was no difference in pain relief between those wearing an ionized bracelet and those wearing a placebo. It looks as if there is a powerful 'placebo' effect at work here. The ionized bracelet works - because the wearer believes in it.
