POLY Medicure Ltd Applies for 8 Patents, 2 FDA Approvals

Poly Medicure Ltd today said it has applied for eight new patents and two USFDA approvals for its new range of safety syringes and safe blood collection holders. //

"In our latest safety syringe, the needle retracts back in the plunger and gets locked after administering the shot so that it does not remain exposed after use. The important feature is that it cannot be reused preventing needle stick injuries," Poly Medicure Managing Director Himanshu Baid said in a release.

The company manufactures medical devices under the brand name Polymed. The safety products are used by physicians and other healthcare workers to protect themselves from stick injuries like HIV and Hepatitis A and B, the release said.

Polymed exports its products to more than 50 countries across different continents including Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, it said.

The company manufactures about 4 different products under different categories like IV Cannulaes, Infusion Therapy Devices, Central Venous Access Catheters, Anesthesia, Blood management devices and other surgical products.
