Outcome of Animal Studies on Treatment for Herpes Keratitis, Disappointing

Doylestown - Quigley Pharma Inc. conducted animal studies to test its treatment against Herpes Keratitis, when the herpes simplex virus attacks the eye. The test results// revealed that the treatment did not prove successful when tested on animals.

Quigley explained that tests conducted to gauge the efficacy of QR-435 in quelling the virus showed that the treatment did not linger in the eye for the period required to kill the virus. But during many other studies, the virus was annihilated with the said treatment.

The company however confirmed that it would conduct further tests to verify treatment of QR-435 as a possible treatment for respiratory and influenza viruses.
