Other Professionals Side With Medical Students In Delhi Peace March

Hordes of engineers, accountants, lawyers joined the protesting medical students on Saturday in the Dilli Chalo rally. The peace march started// at Maulana Azad Medical College and ended at the Jantar Mantar.

This was a surprisingly peaceful rally with no sloganeering. The participants also formed a human chain, but took care not to disturb the normal traffic. “We do not want to inconvenience anybody. We are protesting silently to let it be known that we feel strongly against reservation,” said Shubham, a medical student.

Resident doctors from all hospitals, private practitioners, chartered accountants, IT executives, students from JNU, Delhi University and Jamia Milia Islamia participated in the rally. Generally, parents tell their children not to attend rallies. But this time, we are here ourselves to fight reservations because the cause is just, said SP Singh a father whose daughter is a student at LHMC.

DCP Anand Mohan said that the rally was very peaceful, It was a largely peaceful rally, with no untoward incidents whatsoeve.
