New Bird Flu Outbreak Sets Migratory Birds Die.

In China two new outbreaks of avian flu among migratory birds and many cases recorded in the northwest over the past month//.

Agriculture ministry of China reported a total of 399 bar-headed geese and ruddy shelducks had died from the virus (H5N1) in outbreaks in Tibet's Naqu district and the Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in neighboring Qinghai province.

Two outbreaks had occurred in separate locations, linked by the same migratory route. Earlier reports reveals, 123 birds had died in the previous outbreaks.

Since the area was thinly populated and had no farms where poultry was being raised, suggesting lesser risk to domesticated birds.

Qinghai, the main bird migratory route in Asia recorded a series of avian flu outbreaks in May last year.

The ministry has reported about 18 human cases of bird flu, 12 of which were fatal. Since it re-occupies the place more than 120 people worldwide have died from bird flu, who were mostly from Asia.
