Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has found a new opponent to flatten out - childhood obesity in the US. Ali, who was famed for his fast jabs and even faster one-liners// has taken up the challenge to fight obesity by agreeing to collaborate with Goat Foods, an acronym of Greatest Of All Time" to promote reduced-calories food and drinks.

Among the items promoted by Ali are Shuffle, Jabs and Rumble, fruit-filled rolls shaped like boxing gloves or punchbags. 'It is time to pass on the values, beliefs and principles that made me a champ to the next generation of champions,' Ali said in a statement. Each item will contain less than 150 calories.

The 64-year-old Ali is suffering from Parkinson's disease, so it is unclear how involved he will be in the project. His fourth wife, Lonnie told the New York Times that he was worried about the obesity epidemic in youngsters. 'What Muhammad is working on is his legacy. How are people going to remember him? Muhammad says we should all be in a race to do good,' she said.

The American Obesity Association said that the foods looked like a good idea at least in theory. 'But unless it ends up actually reducing the calories that the user consumes, it is not likely to have a benefit in terms of weight loss,' said AOA's executive director Morgan Downey.
