More Caffeine Could Mean a Greater Acceptance Tendency

According to a research conducted by the researchers at the University of Queensland it was found that coffee can help to persuade someone to agree with your ideas // . The results of the study were published in the European Journal of Social Psychology. The study enquired about the people’s attitudes towards euthanasia before and after reading persuasive arguments against their initial beliefs.

Before reading the arguments, the participants were given orange juice with either caffeine or a placebo. It was surprising to find that those consumed juice with caffeine agreed to the argument than those with the placebo. They had greater message-related thinking and better argument recall. The study author Dr. Pearl Martin from the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland says that the study could have many applied implications.
