It is an accepted fact that women are the biggest chatterboxes, but a new study has revealed that men spend more time on the phone than their female counterparts.

The study has found that men not only spend more time on house phones, but also on the their mobiles.

It has been estimated that men are hooked to their phones for 32 minutes today, as compared to 22 minutes in 2002.

However, women spend only 26 minutes, which has come down from 35 minutes five years ago, reports the Daily Mail.

The survey of 3,500 adults revealed that women choose to message or e-mail their banter.

Twenty nine percent of men said that sports is the main topic of their conversation and 22 pct discuss mysteries of women.

Twenty percent chat about mysteries of money; the survey carried out by loyalty card company Nectar and the telecommunications firm Talk Talk revealed.

Thirty two percent of women talk about men and an equal percentage chatter about what to wear.

The survey also sound that Scotland has the biggest chunk of the chatterbox population with 62 pct of adults spending about 30 minutes on the phone.
