Medical Fraternity Criticizes Doctor’s Recruitment Proces

The selection process of junior doctors in London has received huge flak from the medical society. To mark their protest, there would be a big rally// which will begin from the Royal College of Physicians, St Andrew’s Place, and will end at Royal College of Surgeons in Lincolns Inn Fields tomorrow.

David Cameron will be addressing the rally of junior doctors and their families condemning the latest selection procedure adopted by the government. According to Cameron, the new computerized system of hiring junior doctors should be replaced by the old procedure of interview system. A review of the new procedure has been ordered by the government and if it found the online system to have serious faults, it should be revoked.

Many junior doctors have not yet received their interview intimation. Doctors feel that this is the biggest crisis that has hit the British medical system ever since the inception of NHS.

Conservative health spokesman, Mr. Andrew Lansley opined that medical schools cannot be developed when the career growth of doctors have been put on peril. He was also aghast by the breakdown of the Medical Training Application Service (MTAS) which gives very little leverage to academic achievement and clinical experience. He was vociferous in saying that junior doctors should not be left in the lurch.
