Malaria Grips Jamaica, Nearly 160 Affected

Jamaica – In what is thought to be the first malarial outbreak in 40 years, health officials report that an estimated 160 people have come down with malaria.//

No fresh cases of malaria have been reported further. Fortunately, the major resort locations are free of the infection.

Malaria, is notorious as one of the world‘s deadliest diseases, killing about 1 million children in the poor nations each year. The tropical climate in these countries is conducive for the mosquitoes to thrive and spread the disease.
