This year, there has been a "more serious" incidence of malaria as compared to earlier year with the disease assuming greater severity not only in the state but in other neighbouring states of the north east especially Assam, he said Various awareness camps were also organised in the areas which were more seriously affected, so that the general public could be made aware of preventive steps required to be taken.
