Magic Potion Creator Held

Harminder Johal, from west Midlands, UK, will be dishing out 7000 pounds by way of fines and costs. The Indian had put up for sale a magic cream supposed// to cure skin diseases.

The cream when seized and examined was found to contain Clobetasol Propionate, a prescription steroid drug, used to treat severe cases of childhood eczema.

Official sources in the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA- a government watchdog body responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are safe) said that the creams were just plain moisturizers laced with Clobetasol Propionate.

"This result sends a clear message to those who are intent on abusing such potent medicines for financial gain. We will continue to clamp down on people who flout the laws under the Medicines Act and pose a threat to public health.’ says Mike Deats of MHRA.
