Madonna Has "Minor Operation" For Hernia

Pop diva Madonna has undergone a minor operation for hernia, which was discovered after she performed at the Grammys on February 8. Madonna was directly sent to the Cedars Sinai Hospital // in Los Angeles after her performance where she had the surgery performed last week.

Her spokeswoman confirmed that the singer was recovering, “She had a minor procedure for a hernia and is absolutely fine now,” the spokeswoman said. Madonna has had several problems with her health after she sustained a broken collar bone and a broken hand and cracked 3 ribs after she fell off a horse in England last August. It is being speculated that the hernia occurred due to the gyrating moves that the 47-year-old singer is famous for, but, Dr Dudley Rogg, the clinical director of the British Hernia Centre dismissed such talk and said that age and physical activity has no relation to hernia, "The abdominal wall is nature's corset. It is tough stuff, but full of natural weaknesses like the perforation in a postage stamp," he said. He added that it was "the luck of the draw" and "nothing to do with physical fitness" if any person developed the condition.
