Lousy Time at Louisiana

New Orleans is facing an ordeal of sorts. After hurricane Katrina what can be worse? Apparently, the region is unable to meet up to the growing demands of healthcare// , mainly due to the shortage of practicing doctors. This has made life extremely tough for people who need to pick up the threads of their life, post Katrina.

To make matters worse, many health records have met a watery end. Most hospitals are seen managing huge crowds in dire need for respite. Katrina related diseases have unleashed their toll, and the desperate are looking for succor.

This is a huge setback, according to a particular doctor. Before the catastrophe in 2005, the place could boast of the expertise of 120 surgeons; post Katrina only five specialists have returned and revived their practice. With the residents slowly rebuilding their lives, healthcare facilities need to be spruced up before anything else. /M
