Leading Hospital in Andhra Plans Expansion

Care Hospitals, a leading healthcare provider in Andhra Pradesh, Thursday announced that it would invest Rs.2 billion during the next one year to set up new state-of-the-art hospitals in six states.

The healthcare brand, which has just completed 10 years, plans to open new hospitals in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Orissa and Kerala.

The expansion plans were announced by eminent cardiologist and chairman of Care Hospitals B. Soma Raju. "The hospital was working to release its mission of making quality medical care affordable and accessible," he said.

The hospital also plans to double its bed strength to 2,000 in south and central India by the end of next year. It has a target of 5,000 beds by end of 2010 across the country, Raju said.

Care Hospital, which started as a heart institute with 100 beds in Hyderabad in 1997, has expanded to the neighbouring states. The hospital presently has 1,000 beds at 10 branches in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.
