Latest Version of Echocardiography Provides Improved Pictures of the Heart

Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is a recent progress in echocardiography providing doctors with improved imaging of the heart. This procedure entails the insertion of a // probe into the esophagus, which emits radio waves. These waves, bounce off the heart and help in enabling a motion picture of the heart, far clearer than a conventional echocardiogram.

These detailed images are capable of offering various options to doctors in treatment procedures, especially in the case of special conditions. Now, TEE is being used all the more in the diagnostic evaluation of patients with stroke, transient ischemic attack, or peripheral embolism.
