Kelly Clarkson Reveals Bulimic Past

American idol winner Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she was bulimic during her high school days .

In an interview to 'CosmoGirl!' in its August issue, the singer said that she suffered from the eating disorder after she tried to lose weight for a role in a play.

"I thought...If I came back and I'm cuter and thinner...then I'll get the role," Us Weekly quoted Clarkson, as saying.

However, one of Clarkson's guy pals discovered that she was bulimic, after which she 'snapped out' of it.

"One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarrassed. I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it," she added.

Since then, Clarkson has always strived to maintain a healthy body and she said that it is 'good for people to see normal'.

"I've got a butt, I'm Greek- I can't help that. And I think it's good for people to see normal," she said.
