Food4thought campaign is to be started by British Heart Foundation to encourage children’s know what food they are eating and about the contents of the food which will help them to educate about healthier foods//. The survey also showed that the children’s were ignorant about the content of the foods they eat.

More than 10% of children did not know what are chips made up of and 37% of children’s were not aware that cheese was made of milk. The ITV sports presenter Gabby Logan has talked about the junk food and has started a ‘Policy pizza’ in a TV channel and appeals to put a ban on TV channels advertisements marketing junk and fatty foods by showing attractive advertisements. The British Heart Foundation is to advertise on the demerits of junk food by putting half censored posters of burger rolls filled with bones and gristles.

Peter Hollins, BHF's director general, said, “Kids have lost touch with even the most basic foods and no longer understand what they are eating and this campaign is about talking to children in their language and sparking their curiosity so that they think about what they eat and start demanding healthier options. The foundation is sending 600,000 action packs to youngsters and has enlisted the help of celebrities, including actress Fay Ripley and cricketer Andrew Flintoff, to help in the campaign”.
