Junior Medicos Call Off Hunger Strike

At least 25 junior doctors who were on a hunger strike over quota issue at the campus of government-run New Civil hospital since Monday // , called off the strike tonight, according to action committee president Dr Rajiv Kharkhar.

Meanwhile, the general strike by over 700-odd medicos in the region has entered its tenth day today.

The protestors staged a protest rally under the aegis of Indian Medical Association (Gujarat unit) office from Chowk Bazar to district collectorate where the action committee members submitted a memodradum to the district collector Vastalla Vasudevan for forwarding to the President and Prime Minister.

Over 50-striking medicos would also leave for New Delhi tomorrow to demonstrate on the issue alongwith their counterparts in the national capital.
