It seems that singer Joel Madden is reluctant to confirm or deny reports about his girlfriend Nicole Richie's pregnancy .

In a recent interview with radio host Kelly K, the Good Charlotte frontman made it very clear that he was not willing to share the news with the world.

The DJ began to bring up the subject of Joel's approaching fatherhood, and led the question with, "I have to ask..."

But realising the question that was in store, Madden replied even before Kelly could finish.

"You don't have to ask, you want to ask. I won't answer. I don't speak about home at work, Us Weekly quoted Madden, as saying.

Joel crushed the line of questioning completely with his concluding comments.

"It's my rule. It kills people, I guess, but yeah, I don't talk about it, he said.
