Industrial and Environmental pollutants increase diabetes risk

Researchers have found that exposure to pollutants increase the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. The study was conducted on fisherman families eating// salmon fish containing high levels of chemicals and pollutants known as Persistent Organochlorine Pollutants which includes Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and DDT.

Type 2 diabetes generally develops after age 40 and can develop gradually, often without symptoms, over many years. It may reveal itself too late to prevent damage. In fact, you may first learn you have diabetes when you develop one of its common complications - heart disease, kidney disease or vision problems. The study results confirmed that eating fish contaminated with industrial and environmental pollutants increased the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
