Indonesian boy with huge neck tumor was surgically removed

Lukas Wahangara, 12 year old boy from Indonesia had a tumor measuring about 7.87 inches diameter and weighed 4.41 lb and the tumor made up around 10% of his body weight.// The tumor was successfully operated by the Surgeons in Singapore at Mount Elizabeth Hospital involving different specialties.

The tumor had developed due to an Iodine deficiency which is an endemic problem in Sumba. The 7.87 inches tumor developed from the size of a quail’s egg and the patient feels relaxed after the surgery and was found to breathe normally. The cost of the operation was around €9,600 which was funded by the charity organization and Wahangara will return to Indonesia after he recovers from surgery.
