Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Degrees can now practice in India

A new policy by the Government of India will now enable Indians who have acquired medical degrees from abroad, to practice in India, through a screening test that will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (An Autonomous Body of The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare). The purpose of the registration is only to qualify for registration with the Medical Council// of India or any State Medical Council and shall not confer any other right whatsoever on a candidate.

The examination will be held on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th March 2003 at Delhi. The exact venue of the examinations will be intimated to the candidate individually and can also be seen on the website (www.natboard.org).

(through Bank draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of National Board of Examinations payable at New Delhi)

The forms can also be downloaded from the website (www.natboard.org). The downloaded forms MUST be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs. 3,500/- (form + exam fee) drawn in favour of National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
The envelopes may be superscribed - "Application for Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications".

Instructions contained in the current Bulletin for March, 2003 examinations should alone be consulted for filling up the application form.

Application form duly completed with all particulars should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, latest by 28th Feb. 2003. Applications received after the last date will not be considered at any circumstances.

Incomplete application forms without requisite enclosures are liable to be rejected and no correspondence whatsoever will be entertained in this regard.
