IMA, Punjab, Gives Call For Medical Bandh On May 25

The Punjab chapter of Indian Medical Association today called a statewide medical bandh on May 25 to protest the Centre's move// to provide reservation for OBCs in elite educational institutions.

At an emergency meeting of the state executive body of IMA presided by President Dr G S Gill, the members unanimously passed a resolution condemning police action against medicos in Delhi, Mumbai and Patna.

IMA members criticized the UPA government for pursuing vote-bank politics and said it as an attempt to divide the society on caste basis, an IMA press release said.
