Homage Paid To Children Who Died In Fire Mishap

Hundreds of people, including parents, relatives and friends of the 94 children, who perished in a major fire tragedy in a school here, today paid floral homage// to the departed on the second death anniversary.

The Thanjavur district Collector Vijaykumar led the people in paying homage.

An eye donation pledge was also taken by many who had gathered in front of the school to pay homage to the children who died on this day in 2004.

Later, Vijaykumar told reporters that a memorial would be constructed soon in memory of the children for which the Tamil Nadu government had allocted funds of Rs 60 lakh.
