A study done by business advisory organization Grant Thornton International said that business people in Asia are more stressed than their Western counterparts. This is due to fewer holidays, business travel and fear over job security.// These factors led to an increase in the adrenalin rush among people in Taiwan, China and the Philippines. The study included more than 7,000 business owners in 30 countries, all of whom reported some rise in stress.

Statistics show that about 89% of the respondents in Taiwan suffered a much higher stress than they experienced a year ago. Taiwan was followed by China having 87% which was tailed by Philippines with 76 % stress levels. Botswana was placed in the fourth position with 74 %. Singapore had about 67 % and Malaysia with 65 % stress levels. The findings were published in The Business Times. The global stress percentage was 57% which has increased from 39 % in 2005.

It was seen that these people took very few rest days. Business owners in Taiwan took only eight days leave China 11 days and the Philippines 12 days whereas on the other hand people in France took on an average 27 days and 22 days by the people in European Union overall.

The accounting and consultancy firm's report said that these values show how Europeans have managed a way out of stress, the more the holidays taken lesser is the stress on oneself. Europeans have more public holidays than any other countries.
