Holiday Season Can Lead to Weight Gain ,,,,

Experts claim that the weight gained during the holiday season is never shed and can add up to five pounds. //

The weight gain starts from the Thanksgiving weekend and goes upto Christmas. Cocktails and cookies add to the battle of the holiday bulge.

To stop this bulge a few tips are now being circulated. One is to have more fruits and non-fat yogurt, drink skimmed milk, drink in moderation. Drinks maker Diageo has some holiday tips: Carolyn Panzer, Senior V-P, Public Policy, Diageo.

'Know what you are drinking-drink responsibly. Know standard servings of beer wine and sprits all have exactly the same amount of alcohol. And know too, alcohol has calories. If you are watching your carbs--distilled sprits however don't have any carbohydrates.'

Studies indicate that those who continue to exercise during holiday season maintain their weight by increasing their exercise and burning the extra calories.

One should remember that loosing the weight gained is likely to be difficult and can lead slowly to obesity – a worldwide problem.
