Heart Rhythms Swing Precariously to Emotion, especially Anger

Heart rhythms can swing perilously when we are angry, even igniting life and death situations, to reveal scientists after studying nearly 1000 cardiac patients//.

With the help of special instruments, called implantable cardioverter defibrillators, inserted near the heart, doctors studied the connection between emotions and heart rhythms in a group suffering heart disease. ICD’s are equipped to keep a check on the heart rhythms and are programmed to convey a shock whenever the heart rhythm changes to a perilous rate.

Upon analysis of nearly 200 patients whose ICD’s had conveyed a shock, the finding revealed that people were almost thrice likely to experience an alteration in heart rhythm to a fairly angry situation, and 16 times more likely to receive a shock when they were livid with rage. Heart specialists have warned that cardiac patients must endeavor to reduce anger and stress in their life, as this has a direct influence on their heart health.
