Having Kids at Home Fatten Up Mom and Dad?

Highly developed nations like the U.S, with a fast paced lifestyle are facing an epidemic of obesity currently. Americans consume a lot of saturated fat which can cause an// avalanche of diseases.

In an American family with kids around, parents tend to eat more and put on more weight, proves a recent study done in the U.S. Eating habits are grossly different in adults who live with children that those who live without children in their homes. Adults seem to eat as much or more than a whole pepperoni pizza containing saturated fat every week when they live with.

A survey was conducted covering over 6,600 adults .The results of the work were published by the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine. The authors have opined that more investigations may be required to find the association of this disparity in eating habits.Helena Laroche the lead researcher explained that the variation in the eating habits may be due to various reasons. Parents tend to eat more fattening foods when they have children at home.

Parents with children end up eating more than 4.9 grams of fat inclusive of 1.7 grams of saturated fat. The authors presume that the various reasons that contribute to this are the time pressures that parents face, and sharing from kids very high calorie sugary food . Adults do get tempted to eat the food that is often intended only for the children.

The researchers studied groups of adults with children. below the age of 17.
