The Drug Inspectors' Association of Andhra Pradesh has brought out a handbook cum diary for the benefit of all chemists, drug manufacturers and the Association members in the state. The Association has managed to put together all necessary information with regard to the regulatory requirement in an easy-to-locate format in the diary. The information is to be extremely useful to the drug trade and manufacturing sector in the state. //

The book contains all statutory forms essential for the day to day working of drug inspectors. Checklists for the grant / renewal of licenses, revised license fees structure, and specifications of all banned drugs are all present in the diary. All necessary forms and statutory requirements are clearly given in the new book. The information is self-explanatory and saves much time on repeated inquiries. The list of banned drugs have been updated in such a way that the diary contains even the drugs which are brought under the list with effect from January 1, 2002.

The Association has also included the list of all pharmacy colleges in the state and declaration of the state government announcing the reconstitution of the state drug advisory committee. The novel approach made by the drug inspectors in the state is in tune with the overall policy of the state government to facilitate better and speedy performance in all its departments.

The Association has sought the cooperation of the industry and the trade by requesting them to follow the guidelines given under Drugs and Cosmetics Act, by associating the department officials with all meetings of professional and industry organizations like Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association (BDMA) and consult the drugs inspector in case of the slightest doubt on the quality of drugs.
