Gujarat High Court Quashes Admissions to K M Shah Dental College

The Gujarat High Court today quashed the admissions given to 23 students in a post-graduate course by the K M Shah Dental college for the current academic year. //

"The division bench of Justice Y R Meena and Justice T A Mehta today held that the college administration had not conducted the entrance tests and admission process in a fair, tranparent and non-exploitative manner," said advocate Paresh Upadhaya, who argued the case on behalf of two students who had filed a case against admission process followed by the college.

The admission were given to the students based on an Common Entrance Test conducted by the private college on June 25 this year.

The bench quashed and set aside the admissions given to 23 students by the Wagodhiya-based college for the MDS (Masters in Dental Surgery) course, Upadhaya added.

The court also asked the college to pay a sum of Rs 10,000 as costs, the advocate said.

For the current year, the court asked the college to use the merit list prepared by the Gujarat university in giving admission to the students, Upadhaya added.
