Global Warming Results In Increased Heat Related Illness

Californian researchers are planning to study the relationship between global warming and increased emergency room admission.//

The study will be funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Statistics show that more than 160 individuals have died due to the heat wave that occurred in California. The study’s main aim is to track the rising temperature to these illness and deaths which would aid in the establishing of new policy and treatment modalities to combat global warming and its associated deaths in the future. There is a sudden increase in the number of heat caused illness such as asthma, heat stroke and heart attacks.

The death toll was more than any other natural disaster and the hospital staffs should be trained to handle such situation in the future. The temperatures in the southern Californian regions went as high as 100 degrees and other factors such as air conditioner exhaust and concrete increase the temperature further and prevent cooling. Hence measures should be taken to reduce the emission of green house gasses which trap the heat and increase the ground temperatures.
