German Nurse Makes A Confession

Stephan Letter, a male nurse aged 27, has admitted to killing some people under his care, communicating that nothing of what he says could actually justify his actions, because he killed patients out of great compassion to alleviate their pain.//

He was found pleading the court to convert 16 murders to manslaughter, to reduce the penalty. The nurse was suspected of dubious acts and arrested subsequently in July 2004, after the police found that medicines had vanished at the clinic in Sonthofen, where he was employed.

Mr. letter admitted to having killed 12 patients using a lethal injection and feigned non remembrance of the remaining cases. But later on Tuesday, went back on the confession and refused to comment on the deaths he had caused.” I confessed to killings which I did not commit," he told the court.

Prosecutors at the Bavarian court at Kempton uncovered open vials at his home that was sufficient to kill 10 people. The police later exhumed and conducted a post mortem on the 42 corpses, found after he was charged with murder.

Mr Letter’s victims were aged above 75 years and certainly not all of them were really sick. He seemed to have killed without any motive and perhaps impulsivel.
