Genetics Has A Major Role To Play In Body Shape.

Scientists in a major breakthrough in the study of treating obesity have identified a gene FOX gene,// which is associated with gain in weight.

This now explains why people despite not eating too much tend to put on weight and turn obese. The logical sequence for obesity is input of food being greater than the energy expenditure, but in certain situations this is not the case.

The answer thus lies in genetics. The gene studied so far shows that obesity may run in families. Genes determine how the body balances calories and energy. A family history of obesity increases you chances of becoming obese by about 25 to 30 percent.

Don’t fret! Heredity doesn't destine you to be fat. But by influencing the amount of body fat and fat distribution, genes can make you more susceptible to gaining weight.
