Gastroenteritis attacks the newborn ward

The Royal Hospital for Women, which is a prominent maternity hospital in Sydney, blocked transfers to its newborn ward from other hospitals, following five babies// getting sick with gastroenteritis, known to cause vomiting and diarrhea. The sick babies have been secluded to reduce the spread of virus.

The new born care centre ensured that the area was absolutely disinfected to ensure transfer of babies from within the hospital did not jeopardize he health of the babies. The care of the infected babies' has been spruced up to aid their speedy recovery as well as check the spread of infection.
