Freeze-dried fruits: Berry Berry Good!

Don't get misled by the looks of freeze-dried fruits. Though they appear to be small, studies have shown that the antioxidant phytochemicals //that is present in fresh state is just the same after freeze-drying. Also the benefits of these dried fruits are assimilated easily into the blood stream.

The key researcher into this project, Gary Stoner, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of Environmental Health Sciences at Ohio State University, explained how the whole freeze-dried berry is better off than the extracts because they contain vitamin C, E and folic acid.

Dr. Stoner Gary also discovered that the powdered version of the berries have shown positive indications of preventing tumors of the colon. Human trials on this have begun to gauge the effects on colon and esophageal cancers. He is currently involved in the development of an aerosol spray made from berries to be tested in lung cancer studies.
