Flu outbreak imminent in Australia.

Influenza specialist group has warned of an impending flu outburst in Australia over the next few weeks, so people will do well do get vaccinated//. With New Zealand already facing the flu onslaught, experts feel that it is only a matter of time before it penetrates Australia.

Vaccinations usually take about a fortnight to start working. Those with health conditions like heart disease, asthma, diabetes, etc are highly susceptible to flu attacks of a virulent form and hence should protect themselves with vaccination. GP’s have been advised about the benefits of prescribing antiviral medication to those patients who come down with flu.
