Flu Vaccine’s Destination Changed From Illinois To Pakistan

The Government rejected the flu vaccines that were manufactured and sent to Illinois. Blagojevich was prevented // from getting the 250,000 vials of unapproved flu vaccines from Europe to Illinois but sent to Pakistan instead.

These vaccines worth $2.5 million were sent to the people affected by the recent earthquake, which plundered the joys from the South East Asians. At Illinois the state officials are arguing about the payment for these vaccines being taken care by the taxpayers of Illinois who have not received the vaccines.

The vaccines are delivered to the people living in the disputed region of Kashmir who were hit worsely by the earthquake on October killing 87,000 people and rendered millions homeless.

Blagojevich ordered the vaccines in 2004 when Illinois thought that it would experience shortage of vaccines. But the US Food and Drug Administration failed to approve the import of these vaccines, which has expired this summer. These vaccines also were not approved to be imported to South Africa as the expiry dates on the vaccines had passed.

But the Blagojevich spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff told that the vaccines are still viable and can give the desired output. The vaccines were tested for their potency and proved that they have the capacity to confer immunity.

The governor told that British company, Ecosse Hospital Products Limited, should be settled for the vaccines and that the company cannot be blamed for not approving the vaccines by the Illinois government.

The state Comptroller said that the taxpayers need not shell money for the vaccines that they have not received.
