Feathers Ruffled After 4000 Birds Die in the Land of Haute Couture, France

Paris: To ascertain the exact reason that led to the death of almost 4000 chickens on a farm in northeastern France//, officials are conducting detailed tests, though preliminary investigations have ruled out bird-flu.

According to a communiqué released by the ministry, the death of the birds was sudden, bewildering officials since 3500 birds on the same farm are keeping healthy. The owner of the farm is pretty sure, the deaths are not due to bird flu.

The environment ministry, as recent as previous month, had dismissed any risk of bird flu to their domestic flock, due to migratory birds. The World Health Organization has estimated that above 250 people have been infected since 2003, though it is basically an animal disease.
