FSA Proposes Packaging of Fatty Food in Smaller Packs

The food standards agency has come out with a good idea to ensure reduction in the consumption of fatty food. With a view to encouraging// "portion size control" and improve the health of the nation, they have proposed that fat laden foods be sold in smaller packs.

This move by the FSA seeks to encourage healthy eating while discouraging consumption of food stuff with high fat. Further, it would also encourage consumers to choose healthier food options instead of fatty ones. This action is highly appreciated in the United Kingdom, where obesity rates have simply trebled in the past twenty years.

The watchdog's director of nutrition and dietary health Gill Fine said: "Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of death in the UK and poor diet is thought to be responsible for a third of these deaths."

Let us hope this plan works wonders in reducing obesity and improving the health of the nation.
