The company's ready-to-eat fish is reported to be contaminated, as a result of which this measure has been initiated.

The inspections conducted by the FDA in 2004 and 2005 have revealed that the disease-causing bacterium Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria) has been discovered in the products of the company, in addition to the unsanitary conditions prevalent at the company's facilities. The company has not implemented the corrective measures it had promised, according to the FDA.

Listeria may be fatal for unborn babies, pregnant women, and newborns, in addition to people whose immune systems are impaired.
