Exposure To Antibiotics Very Early Could Lead To Asthma In Children

A new study has said that infants who are exposed to antibiotics in the first year of their life face the risk of developing asthma later. //

Carlo Marra and other researchers at the University of British Columbia who studied 12,082 children and 1,817 asthma cases found this, but suggested that large-scale prospective studies were needed to confirm it.

They advised parents that many infections in infants are viral in nature in which case antibiotics are not useful, reported health portal MedPage Today.
