Excessive Text Messaging Causes Repetitive Strain Injury In A Eight Year Old Girl

When her grandmother gave Isabelle Taylor, of St Annes, Lancs, a mobile phone two years ago she did not think that her grand child would end up constantly // sending text messages to her friends and relatives, and developing a condition known as ‘repetitive strain injury’ and becoming the youngest person in Britain to suffer from this condition.

Her mother, Jane, explains that she's constantly on the phone messaging. Stating that she had tried many a times to stop her from doing so, she said that she had even tried to take it off her but she started to sneak it in and out of school.

She further explained that a couple of months ago she started complaining about pains in her arms and hands. When she was taken to a local chiropractor, Dr David Cosgrave, she was diagnosed of having this condition. Dr David who is now treating her twice a week explains that text messaging regularly over a long period of time could cause both long term and short-term injuries.

Little Isabelle though seems not to be too worried, and is determined to continue texting. Stating that she’s not going to stop, she says that her friends and she talk to each other with texts, so she can't not text them.
