Environmental Abuse Causes Health Hazards

World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the incidence of new diseases and rise in infectious diseases is due to increased abuse of the natural environment,// which has led to an imbalance in between natural reservoirs and human needs.

Increase in livestock production has lead to spread of new virus infections such as SARS, bird flu from poultry birds to humans as these virus developed resistant to antibiotics and other drugs due to indiscriminate use of these drugs in poultry industry and these drug resistant strains are being transmitted to humans which have become very hard to control.

Indiscriminate abuse of natural resources have lead to a shortage of clean and safe drinking water which as lead to an increase in water borne disease spread. Increased discharge of pollution in all forms affecting land, noise, air and water pollution has lead to an increased global warming and emergence of resistant microorganisms, pollutants that trigger cancers and chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and heart attacks.

World Health Organization have urged the people to be more responsible in sustaining our normal ecosystem as the ecosystem helps in preventing diseases and protect good health.
