Effect of Snoring on Partners

A study by the British Snoring and Sleep Apnoea Association (BSSAA) reveals that snoring affects relationships to a great extent//. It also has a detrimental effect on health and ruins sex lives.

BSSAA in collaboration with Ideal Home show has brought out an anti snore bedroom which has suspension beds in place of the usual mattresses. These are washable and aid people who suffer from dust and nasal congestion.

According to the study conducted by the BSSAA, 15 million people in the UK live with people who snore resulting in their loss of sleep for almost 2 hours every night. People who participated in this study felt that snoring affected their relationships and wished that their partner stopped snoring.

They also reported that it had a bad spill over effect on them the next day at work where they made errors due to their loss of sleep. Snoring is attributed to obesity, allergy, and binge eating and drinking in both men and women.

Snoring occurs when there is a vibration of the soft palate and other tissues in the mouth, nose and throat when air is taken into the lungs.
