Dar Es Salaam: Princess Mathilde of Belgium, the UNAIDS and UNICEF Special Representative for Children and AIDS, has stressed the importance of education, in bettering the lot of the children and youth in Tanzania,// a move which will give the anti-Aids movement a morale boost.

The Princess , during the end of her visit to the East African Country said 'During the past days, I have heard the missing voice of children giving testimony on HIV/AIDS issues, I am deeply touched by children living with HIV/AIDS and I am convinced that education for children and young people is of great importance.'

She focused on the prevention of aids which according to her is crucial, as ignorance is considered the biggest enemy of Aids.

Executive Director of UNAIDS (the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS) Dr. Peter Piot, during a press conference, expressed happiness over the improvement in the rise of the pandemic in East Africa The United Nations team also had a meeting with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and the first lady . They discussed the Aids Issue with other representatives and paid a visit to the HIV infected people during their three day visit.
