Doomed Duo: Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Combo, Can Nip Life in the Bud

Obesity has always been the cynosure of all eyes, as a leading cause of chronic diseases and even premature death. Now, experts say that we need to look// at the over all picture, about how other illnesses play a vital role, as important causes of people dying young.

A new study has indicated that the combination of obesity and type 2 diabetes is lethal, almost increasing the chances of death by three times. This revelation does not absolve the plain obese from allied risks of chronic illnesses or early death.

Researchers at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and Emory University School of Medicine in the United States, studied the statistics of 15,408 people aged 44 to 66. The study subjects were chosen from four communities, who were part of a preliminary study between 1989 and 1999.

The analysis revealed that the risk of getting seriously ill and dying early was about the same for normal people and the obese. But the ones who need to safeguard are those who are obese as well as suffer diabetes, for the risk simply trebles for people with the deadly combination.
