Dog’s Death During Demonstration Creates Uproa

A dog was used to test a medical device in a clinic at Cleveland which led to its aneurism and death later. A letter to this effect was sent to U.S. Department of// Agriculture who are probing this incident now.

A neurosurgeon was conducting an experiment to test a medical device in the presence of twenty five sales personnel on this mixed breed dog when the animal developed aneurism and had to be euthanized subsequently. A letter describing this event had been sent to USDA by the clinic authorities who are conducting an investigation.

The clinic says that the doctor had sought for a permission to conduct such an experiment but his application was under review. According to the clinic authorities conducting such an experiment was against their policy and the doctor would not have been given the approval. They also added that though aneurism on the dog was approved, use of the device did not have their consent.

Meanwhile People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) averred that they were aware about such a procedure to be conducted by the doctor and had sent letters to stop the same. Now they would be working on revoking the doctor’s license.
