Does Losing A Game Affect Men?

An online survey has been launched by the Mental Health Foundation, even as the UK seeks to win the football World Cup. The object of the research // is to find out how much importance men give to the game. Evaluations will be made with regard to finding out if men would choose to lose their jobs just for the pleasure of watching the game, and as to whether they merely enjoy watching the game being played by others, or participate in the game itself.

The Health Charity will also seek to find out the extent by which the game enthusiasts will be affected if the country were to lose the game. The Chief Executive of the Mental Health Foundation’s Dr Andrew McCulloch has revealed that men are less likely to talk of their disappointments, when compared to women. He also seeks to find out if they actually express their emotions through watching a football game.

The results of the survey will be made public in June 2006, before the World Cup takes place. The Mental Health Foundation charity seeks to improve the services available for people suffering from learning disabilities and mental health problems, and also contributes financially towards new research.
